DILG: Tarlac City, a child-friendly city

The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) awarded a Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance to Tarlac City for providing priority to children on its planning, budgeting, legislation and delivery of services. The award was accepted by the City Social Welfare and Development and was presented during today’s flag-raising ceremony.

The Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance is an award given by the Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC), in partnership with the DILG, to meet the objective of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UN CRC) and the “Child-Friendly Philippines: A Caring and Protective Society for, by, and with the Children” advocacy.

Mayor Cristy Angeles, in receiving the award as the head of the local government, recognizes the efforts of various stakeholders in making the city a safe and healthy place for the children.
